I found out about the "23 things" last year when I was at ALA. I thought it sounded like such a great way to motivate people to learn about the amazing tools on the web with little pressure. I also loved the collaborative effort of the whole concept. I'm a little bummed, though--I had been looking forward to doing the "23 things" ever since I found out that CML hired Helene Blowers--and I will be on maternity leave for over half the initiative! CML changed the name to Learn and Play, which makes it sound like we are allowed to have fun at work. Nice. I plan to do as many of the exercises as I can before I go on leave. It's not too hard to sit at a computer at 9 months pregnant. Sure is easier than helping customers find books that inevitably are on the bottom shelf!
And since this is my first blog post, I wanted to try to insert a picture. It seems like every cat owner who has a blog always posts pictures of the cats, so here I go. This is Pearl, getting in the way when I was trying to fold the sheets.

Do you have a computer at home? I remember my two maternity leaves. By month three we had the routine down and I was bored. I would have loved to have the web to play on back then.
Cute cat picture! Congrats on the baby, too - I hope all goes well.
I do have a computer at home, but it is kind of clunky and slow, and I don't know if it will work well enough to do this. We were thinking about getting a new computer before we got pregnant, but now that money has to be dedicated to buying a crib instead!
